“Portuguese Art. Reasons and Emotions” (Arte Portuguesa. Razões e Emoções) gathers 211 works of art of 97 Portuguese artists at the Chiado Contemporary Art Museum, in Lisbon. It’s a sum of the last 150 years of Portuguese art history available to visit all through January.
From January 3rd to the 13th, the Cirque du Soleil will have their show “Ovo” on stage at Altice Arena, in Lisbon. One of the most exciting, colourful and vibrating shows of the troupe.
On the last day of the month, January 31st, the CCB’s main room receives probably the most exciting bluesman his generation and our time: Jack Broadbent. The talented singer/songwriter had a humbling beginning in rural England but through time has delighted audiences in live shows with his unique style of slide guitar.
January 18th there will be a wine tasting experience in Quinta João Clara, near Alcantarilha. This is not a normal wine tasting experience because it will have some jazz music in the mix, with the Zeus Faber band.
January 19th happens the 3rd International Piano Festival, in the TEMPO theatre of Portimão with the virtuosity of Chinese pianist Xi Zhai and the Orquestra Clássica do Centro, conducted by polish maestro Jan Wierzba. This very day, but in Faro, there will be shown a musical reinterpretation of ancient films through the piano of Filipe Raposo and the voices of Rita Maria and Ricardo Ribeiro, at the old mews of Palácio de Estoi.
Wrapping up the Algarve suggestions, January 26th, in the streets of Lagos one will be able to witness another Urban Art Experience, promoted by the Momentos Fantásticos com o Património. The same day, but in Albufeira, there will be a show of Cataplana Algarvia tasting, a very tasty local dish!
