Liberty Avenue

Some might say that Champs Elysée from Paris is very similar to Avenida da Liberdade in Lisbon, or should I put it the other way around?

True, I should, because Avenida da Liberdade was inspired by the most iconic avenue of Paris. This is one of the most expensive streets in Portugal. Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, you name it, they are all here.

By the way, you can find us as well in the most prestigious avenue of Lisbon, come visit and have a coffee with us - we even have the view from the Castle, how great is that?

But back in the days, Avenida da Liberdade was not for everyone, no it wasn't.

After the earthquake in 1755, the city needed to rebuild and that was what Marquês de Pombal did. If you want to meet him, go to the top of the avenue and his statue is waiting for you, that's why it's called the Roundabout of Marquês de Pombal.

So 300 years ago it was just a small garden only available to the rich people that lived nearby. But by the time Lisbon started to grow, there was the need to connect Baixa-Chiado downtown to the modern side of the city up north.

The avenue has one thousand meters, and from our offices, we can see a sea of green, because of all the beautiful trees.
