The world has taken a break, and in times where people are more united than ever, other possibilities to wander around open up. If you are currently visiting Portugal you may know that many buildings, expositions, museums in Portugal had to shut their doors. We have made a list of virtual visits you can take around the country, and you can still enjoy your time exploring Portugal!

“Nature, landscape, beaches, and monuments aren’t going anywhere. They’ll still be there waiting for a better time to be lived. And we must do the same for a while.”

Watch this video of Turismo de Portugal, and know that after the storm, Portugal is going to continue being the best country to visit, to live, to breathe.

 1. National Coach Museum, Belém, Lisbon

On the official page, it is possible to visit the rooms of the new building of the National Coach Museum, by the Brazilian architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha, observing the most important world collection of royal coaches and coaches from the 16th to the 19th centuries, Portuguese Royal House. The museum also extends to the former arena of the Royal Palace.

If you like the Belém area, feel free to check pictures of our available properties here and get in touch with our team.

2. Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, Lisbon

The museum’s website allows a virtual visit to the galleries of the Founder’s Collection (a private collection of international art brought together by Calouste Gulbenkian, which includes objects from Ancient Egypt, the Islamic East, to works by Rembrandt, Monet and Rodin) and the Modern Collection (modern and contemporary Portuguese art from the end of the 19th century to the present day).

3. National Museum of Ancient Art, Lisbon

Located in the Alvor Palace, Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga (National Museum of Ancient Art) gathers the most important Portuguese public collection of paintings - among which are the Panels of São Vicente, attributed to Nuno Gonçalves -, sculpture, jewelry and decorative arts, from Europe, Africa and the East.

4. Museu de Serralves e Arquivo Siza Vieira, Porto

Through Google Arte e Cultura, you can visit the interior of the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, a work by Siza Vieira, and part of the Serralves Collection (about 250 pieces). It is also possible to visit the Serralves Park. On the museum’s website, it is also possible to view part of the archive donated by Siza Vieira to the Serralves Foundation, and some of his most emblematic works such as the Quinta da Conceição Pool, the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto or Metro do Porto.

You can also look for real estate in Porto online here.

5. Theatre and Cinema

Teatro Aberto, in Lisbon, will present six plays performed in its seasons online with the project “Teatro Aberto em Casa”, until April 29th. You can watch the plays at 9pm on the official website.

Medeia Filmes will pass three films a week free of charge on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The films are available on the official website, from 12:00 to 00:00 the next day.

6. E-books

If you prefer spending home time reading, you can download e-books from the Leya publisher’s website, from the Camões Digital Library or from the National Library digital archive.

Investidor da Turquia

Ryan was an excellent real estate agent, he really steered me in the right direction based on what I said was important to me. Living in another country, I wasn't as familiar with the city as he is. Where I thought I wanted to live and what I truly wanted were not the same. He took the time to listen and figure out the best spot for me, and we are very happy with it - far more than we would have been elsewhere.
