Montargil is one of the most promising low density areas in Portugal. Located only 50 min from Lisbon, it offers peace and quiet without forgoing the benefits of close proximity to the capital. Montagil has long been famous among locals as a countryside retreat but has seen a particular surge in interest in the last few years. City dwellers have been recognising the peace and natural beauty of this nearby region and properties in the warmer months are usually booked out by those seeming to recharge their energy from the stresses of city life. With temperatures of up to 38 in summer and gloriously warm water in the expansive lake, Montargil offers perfect condition for family time, water sports and fishing. It also offers a chance to experience an authentic taste of countryside Portugal - a peaceful, calm and slower paced lifestyle. The area has already been recognised for its potential, with `NAU', a 5 star hotel and spa, operating at high capacity for some time. This dramatically raised the profile of Montargil, with guest Snoop Dog speaking wonders about Portuguese country side after his visit. A bigger city can be found 14 min from it, including a small Airport and Hospital.
