Your guide to Santos

Property in Santos

One of the most attractive neighbourhoods in Lisbon is Santos, a riverfront area where mainly the middle and upper classes live. As it is a residential area, Santos bears a lot of high-standard condominiums seamlessly blended with old re-established mansions. Normally, the neighbourhood is considered to be one of the best preserved historical parts of Lisbon, conserving the charm of the old times, together with the modernity in the renewed buildings.

Santos has several amazing business opportunities and here at Portugal Homes, we offer you its best deals. In Lisbon, we have a range of offers, including residential and commercial properties for sale and even property developments. Let one of our advisors meet your Lisbon real estate ambition, and find the best property for you. Find more information about the Portuguese capital at our Lisbon Real Estate Guide.

What Life Will be Like

Santos represents a good mix between the Portuguese aristocracy palaces and the popular typical neighbourhoods. This happens because of the fishing community that was established in the area. Today the narrow streets of Santos bring a surprise in every corn, with great typical taverns and Portuguese tascas, considered sometimes the bests of Lisbon.

For entertainment, there are several options for you in Santos, for example, the National Museum of Ancient Art, for many considered the best art museum in Lisbon. The museum contains the largest number of works that are classified as national treasures, such as the original painting "Temptations of St. Anthony", by the painter Hieronymus Bosch. Santos also holds the Orient Museum, dedicated to the arts and cultures that emerged from the first commercial connections between Europe and Asia, which started with Portugal making spices commerce during the discovery age.

Another must-visit place is the famous Lx Factory, an old manufacturing complex from the 19th century, that was rehabilitated in 2008. Nowadays the Lx Factory has an artistic vibe and includes artistic collectives, design shops and restaurants with rooftops.
