What was once a 19th-century fish cannery has been transformed into an ultra-modern, award-winning museum that brings Portimão’s local heritage to life. Inside, you’ll find exhibitions dedicated to archaeology, underwater discoveries, and even a recreated fish-canning assembly line, making it a fascinating experience for adults and a fun, educational visit for children too.

One of the Algarve’s most iconic beach destinations, Praia da Rocha is framed by dramatic cliffs, golden sands, and clear waters. Considered one of the earliest fortifications in the Portimão region, this historic site originally served as a watchtower connected to the Castle of Arade. Set on a small hill overlooking the left margin of the Arade River estuary, the fort offers scenic coastal views and sits near two popular beaches: Praia da Angrinha and Praia Grande.

Located within the Arade River estuary, Portimão Marina spans over 25 hectares and is one of the city’s most pleasant areas for a sunny stroll. Surrounded by luxury condominiums, shops, restaurants, and bar, this marina is also internationally recognised, having received a 5 Anchor rating from the International Gold Anchor Awards by the Yacht Harbour Association (British Marine Federation).
